Q:Hello, I have a question to ask. How do you print the sketchbooks? Do you bake them or you buy them blank and you just print the covers? If it's the latter, what technique do you use for printing them? Thank you, Maya
Our printer uses an offset printing press powered by renewable energy and prints with vegetable-based inks on 100% recycled papers, oh and it’s made in the USA.

Q:Here's a question : How many people are there working to keep the ESD project running, and well, out of curiosity, who's the most intellectual in terms of cultural knowledge? Love the Tumblr by the way, its rare to find online galleries as large as this online. :]
Thanks so much for the love & excellent questions.
Tony is the Senior Editor and has the demanding task of going through over a thousand pieces of artwork we receive weekly.
Sarah, our Community Manager, runs our Facebook page and chooses our staff pick of the day.
And I run everything else, producing the sketchbooks, answering your emails, monitoring our Twitter and dealing with questions like this :)
I’m a bit unclear what you mean by “cultural knowledge” but I do know that between the three of us, there are four Bachelor of Fine Art degrees and one Art History minor. :)

Q:Do you plan on selling more limited edition sketch books? I noticed that the one currently being sold it "Santa Cruz version," possibly insinuating that there are other versions in the future? I might not be able to get enough money for the current one in time, but I have an interest in them; I have seen only talented artists and great art on your page.
We absolutely plan on selling more limited edition sketchbooks. In fact, we are on our third design! You can check out the previous editions here.
The best way to not miss out on new editions is to sign up for our email list here.
Q:What is your full-time job?
Q:20 to 30 days, huh? You want volunteer moderators to help with that?
Thanks for being so thoughtful. It is true that it does take some time to look through every submission, but the problem is the queue of work is at times 300 images deep (the limit set by tumblr). Since we post roughly every hour it will take that 300th drawing about 13 days to make it on the site. I hope that makes sense, thanks for your question!

Q:Do you take graphic design type of stuff, or just drawings?
I don’t know, submit it and we shall see.
:)
Q:I submitted my artwork, I was wondering how long it usually takes to get posted, IF its selected...And will we be notified if it is? Just wondering :-)
Due to the amount of submissions we get, which is approximately 250-300 per day, there is just no way or time to notify every artist.
But, if your art was approved, it might take between 20-30 days to be posted on the site.
thanks for your question!
Q:do submissions have to be drawing, or do you accept artistic-y photos?
Excellent question.
We do not post photography.
Submissions can be of a drawing, illustration, painting, collage, mixed media or doodle.
When in doubt, always submit. :)
Q:Hi! I have a question for you! =)
Do you make all this drawings?
I thinks that are awesomes!
I draw too :)
Thanks!
Do I make all this drawing?
No, I only make some.
We have thousands of artists from around the world submitting their wonderful works of art.
Q:how can i submit my work?
It’s super easy:
