lumber:
My Exclusive SDCC 2012 Wee Straw-Beary mini comic debuted at Comic-Con and was a HIT! It was a very limited print run- Only 20 were made!
What’s it about? It’s about a tiny strawberry that wishes it was a killer grizzly bear… just for one day. (Not for children, btw.)
Color cover, b/w interior art, 35 pages, Beary goodness!
I will be making more copies in the near future and I’ll be selling them for $5 bucks a pop, or willing to trade. If you’d like one, now’s your chance to speak up.
I’ll be setting up a paypal account soon, once the dust from SDCC settles, in case you’d like to snag a copy of this soon to be Critically Ashamed underground classic!Lloyd Kaufman, of Troma films, LOVED it and asked for it to be signed! Other peeps who received a copy: Matt Groening, David Faustino (Bud Bundy), Kevin Eastman (co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), James Kochalka (Superf*ckers, American Elf), Keith Knight (K Chronicles), Various other publishers (Top Shelf, SLG), etc.
- Wee Straw-Beary’s glorious PINK cover!
- Very limited print run! Stack o’ 20!
- Each comic was wrapped in it’s own individual plastic bag w/ a FYRB postcard backboard.
- I didn’t have a booth at comic-con this year, so I was wandering nomadically w/ my portable booth lunchbox. It worked wonders and I was stopped by people who were curious. Next year I vow to have a spot at artist’s alley at SDCC or APE selling sketchbooks, mini-comics, prints, posters, etc. I can do it!!!
- All 20, locked and loaded!
- At the Troma booth! Lloyd wanted me to show off my lunchbox!
- Lloyd also asked for me to sign Wee Straw-Beary! It was a complete treat to meet him and his Troma babe.
- A friend wanted me to look for Rob Liefeld to get a sketch, but I had missed him on the 1st day. So I squatted in his spot and sold a Wee Straw-Beary!
- Finally caught up w/ Rob Liefeld, but he was in a rush and had to leave for a panel. Luckily he signed my sketchbook complete w/ iconic “scroll” signature!
