Hidden Folks is a hand-drawn, interactive, miniature searching game. Unfurl tent flaps, cut through bushes, slam doors, and poke some crocodiles! Rooooaaaarrrr!!!!!

Everything in Hidden Folks is drawn by hand, scanned in, placed, layered manually, animated, and scripted. All sounds you’ll hear originate from the mouths of the makers. There are no time limits, no points, just areas with a bunch of folks and objects to be found.
Illustrator Sylvain Tegroeg is best known for creating highly detailed but tiny illustrations of landscapes. Game designer Adriaan de Jongh accidentally stumbled upon Sylvain Tegroeg’s graduation exposition end of 2014, and was immediately drawn to his little creations. Adriaan jokingly told Sylvain they should make a game together. Well - here they are!

The 80s always influenced me a lot, especially the fashion illustrations by Patrick Nagel. Cause I was feeling bored of my recent illustrations so I think it’s time to refresh and leave the comfort zone again, I do that every few months.
I tune down the color a bit, from neon to 80s. I also feel excited about the space and collage element, I may play more of it in the future.
