Johnny Morant (b.1982)

I am a figurative painter working primarily in oil to reflect and expand on my interactions and experiences. My work aims to elaborate on moments from the recent past to create personal and explorative responses.

I attended art school in Bristol and Bournemouth and have since lived in London and Amsterdam.  Asked to comment on my last exhibition, I explained that “by playing on the border between clarity and suggestion my work prioritises the intuitive application of paint and aims to describe the viscosity of light and fragility of form.”

I have had three solo exhibitions in London SW1 at the Rountree Tryon Gallery and have work included in a growing number of collections including Smith & Williamson, Standard Chartered Bank, Prudential plc and Old Mutual plc.

My next exhibition will again be held at The Rountree Tryon Gallery from the 26th September to the 5th October.
