TTW x 80s Game Art Series: Rocky Balboa’s Punch Out [Video]

In Timothy Watters’ latest painting series, 80’s Game,the two different worlds of 1980’s cult classics and video games are combined to make you reminisce about your childhood. In “Ridley,” Timothy meshes Nintendo’s classic video game Metroid with the Alien universe in a contrasting manner between the heroic and bright Samus and the dark, antagonistic Alien.

He has taken to YouTube to unveil and describe his the series in detail. In his first installment, he talks about “Rocky Balboa’s Punchout”, a mixture of the motion picture Rocky and video game Mike Tyson’s Punchout. Born in 1981 and raised in the Bay Area, Timothy Teruo Watters (TTW) has been oil painting for over 18 years and is currently the Chief Creative Officer of Teruo Artistry, a lifestyle brand. TTW is effectively self-taught, only receiving slight guidance from his artist grandfather, Teruo Iyama. His recent work has been exhibited in the Japanese American National Museum and small galleries throughout California. Some of TTW’s collectors include Kobe Bryant, Manny Pacquiao, Bruno Mars, Ice Cube, Nas, Damian Marley, E-40, Snoop Dogg, Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Cornell, P. Diddy, Pitbull, Lil’ Jon, Timbaland, Too Short and Paul Rodriguez.
